Location: Sunny California! | May 6th Guild Meeting
Greetings everyone and welcome to today's guild meeting. We have a lot to discuss so I'll just jump right into it.
We successfully took down Soa as a guild last week! The dreshdaecantina.com website allows us to track our guild's progress through raids - and now we can cross Eternity Vault (story mode) off the list. In order to progess further we will need the best of the best. We will, however, continue scheduling story mode raids for those who are not quite ready for the hard mode runs. It's a great chance to practice the instance and get some gear.
Also, we have partnered with Council of the Light to do 16 man raids. We made it pretty far in Karagga's Palace and will be continuing that raid this coming Monday evening. Those of you who are hard mode capable, please sign up for it!
In other news, we will be hosting a WOOK 2 vs 2 tournament next weekend for credits and other cool prizes. Find yourself a partner and get your strategies started! Registration for the event will begin Monday and close Friday. Full details will be announced tomorrow when registration begins.
To continue discussing PvP, I wanted to remind everyone to hold yourself to high standards when it comes to how we treat others. Please treat your teammates with respect, even if they make a mistake. Please treat your opponents with similar respect, and do not mock or taunt them. Winning is the best way to stick it to them, and WOOK has always had a high standard for how we treat others. It's great that we are developing a reputation as a force to be reckoned with, let's just make sure we do it without petty smack talk and unkind words. Also, don't forget - the way we distribute MVP awards is by sorting the final scoreboard alphabetically and choosing the WOOK below you. This way everyone in the guild gets some bonus rewards.
Now I would like to discuss an exciting new feature that has been added since our last meeting - the guild bank! It has worked out well for sharing items. It would be nice if we could grow the funds somehow and we are open to ideas on how to do it. The goal would be to have a large credits reserve to use for large purchases such as additional bank vaults, and smaller conveniences such as raid repairs and respec. Let me know if anyone has any thoughts on that.
Finally, I would like to mention that our RL treasury has been started with donations from many members. We used some of it to upgrade our TeamSpeak server from 10 to 15 slots. Our next goal is to print a few limited pieces of cool WOOK merchandise such as mousepads and t-shirts. Down the road we would like to host a get-together as well. If anyone would like to get involved with the development or implemantation of these ideas, let me know.

The 2v2 tourney sounds really interesting! I'm curious as to how we will pull that off but sounds fun.
PVP: A good reminder to not lose our cool even if we go a whole week without wins... (that's the worst I've heard so far there may be worse) I think everyone can and has at least fallen prey to this...
If we make t-shirts... I may have to get one! No, its a must! | |
